The Philippine Society of Medical Oncology (PSMO) recently signed its agreement to extend its efforts towards cancer education through its partnership with the C-Network, a local Philippine e-dominant cancer education information public service advocacy program.

Program of Activities: In the agreement, PSMO’s professional members will impart medical expertise on the content of C-Network collateral materials, including its website, as well as provide assistance in tapping resource persons for select cancer awareness initiatives and activities. The promotion of education and awareness in the fight against cancer in the Philippines through its professional members is one of the PSMO’s major missions. PSMO is a scientific, professional organization of competent and caring oncologists committed to the advancement of the science, as well as the ethical and holistic practice of Medical Oncology. The medical organization is active in participating in national, regional, and global cancer programs and considers collaboration with government, civic and other medical societies in the fight against cancer as its humanitarian mission. The MOA signing was headed by PSMO President Dr. Ma. Belen Tamayo and PSMO Treasurer Dr. Jhade Lotus Peneyra. The C-Network is a local Philippine e-dominant cancer education information public service campaign in collaboration with interested individuals, cancer patients, cancer support groups, hospice care groups, cancer centers, cancer-focus media groups, oncology societies and associations, and lead government agencies which include the Department Of Health and Philippine Cancer Society. C-Network Liaison Officers Paolo Caoile and Christine Fernandez were present to witness the event.
